Highlights of what happened globally in the sport of Sailing in the last 7 days. It was a chaotic start for the VO65's in the Coastal Race for deciding the winners in the  Ocean Race Europe. Both fleets fought for the trophies right to the end, and whilst the weather did not always be kind, they all agreed that the race was a success. The 58th edition on the Rolex Giraglia Race this year started in Italy not France, and there was a big fleet of 138 high quality yachts with the Sydney 43, G TS Imagine, taking the overall handicap win. Meanwhile on the Solent, the RORC Fast 40 Plus fleet had their weekend regatta, and Niklas Zennstrom on Ran had his hands full, and had a close win over their ever improving fleet. After only completing one event in 2020, the 52 Super Series in 2021, will have three regattas and the fleet of top level TP52's are all ready for the competition. The Bel d'Or Mirabaud is a "one-Off" event where around 400 yachts race across Lake Geneva. We follow the newbies who make up "The Sailing Squad." They've flown in from all over, and they have to go through their paces to crew on the race yacht. One of the new forms in Sailing which is getting very popular is "Wing surfing." The RYA has put out an introduction to the sport, and it shows that there is a lot of interest in learning how-to. And next year is the very popular Route du Rhum  single handed Race where the course is between Saint Malo Brittany France, and Pointe-à-Pitre Guadeloupe. It is one of the most popular French Solo Races, and the list of winners is a whose-who of the best sailors in the world. We have a preview.
